La jornada vivida el miércoles 20 de abril recién pasado, sin duda será uno de los momentos que perdurarán en el tiempo y será una de las imágenes que recordaremos del año escolar en curso. Nos referimos a la ceremonia a través de la cual el Departamento de Inglés hizo solemne entrega de las Certificaciones Cambridge a un grupo de alumnos de educación básica, educación media inicial y superior de nuestro colegio.
El acto que contó con la presencia del rector del establecimiento, Claudio Castillo Faúndez, de los directores de sección, coordinadores pedagógicos y de familiares de los alumnos certificados, se inició con tradicional oración esta vez pronunciada en un fluido inglés por pequeños alumnos de 2° año básico.
La presidenta del departamento de inglés, Gloria Tapia Zavala.saludó a los alumnos certificados dedicándoles sentidas palabras.
Seguidamente, los asistentes fueron testigos de la representación de un fragmento de la obra Hamlet del afamado dramaturgo Williams Shakespeare, por un grupo de alumnos de tercero medio, en la que hicieron gala de un excelente manejo de idioma inglés.
El momento central de la ceremonia naturalmente estuvo marcado por la entrega de las diplomasYoung Learners English Certification (FLYERS),Key EnglishTest Certification (KET),Preliminary English Test Certification (PET), y First English Certification (FCE), distinciones que fueron entregadas por el rector del colegio y los directores de sección.
La ceremonia fue matizada por la dulce voz de la alumna Isabel Arias de 8° Básico quien interpretó el tema “Onmyown” de la obra Los Miserables.
A nombre de los premiados, se dirigió a los presentes el alumno Andrés Fernández.
Finalmente, el acto concluyó con unas palabras, naturalmente en inglés, pronunciadas por nuestro rector Claudio Castillo Faúndez.
En la preparación de los alumnos para la acreditación participaron los profesores Leslie Donoso y César González.



The ceremony of Cambridge Certification was celebrated last Wednesday April 20th Undoubtedly, it will be one of those memorable events that will be kept in our minds. The English Department carried out a relevant ceremony where the diplomas of different examinations were given to the students of primary and secondary education.
This event had the presence of our dean Mr. Claudio Castillo Faúndez, Principals of the different areas, pedagogical coordinators, certificated students and their families.
The ceremony started with a traditionalprayerintroduced by second grade students of primary education. The head of the English department, Mrs. Gloria Tapia Zavala addressed some meaningful words to the certificated students.
Afterwards, the audience had the pleasure of watching a play from William Shakespeare, “Hamlet”, in which junior students of High school performed this play showing their talents and abilities of the English language.
The great moment of the ceremony was proudly marked when the students received their diplomas; Young Learners English Certification (FLYERS), Key English Test Certification (KET), Preliminary English Test certification (PET) and First English Certification (FCE) These awards were given by the dean of our school and the Principals of the different areas.
This event continued with the presentation of the student, Isabel Arias fromeighth grade of High School, who showed her talent singing a song, “On my own”, from “Los Miserables” play.
Andrés Fernández Marchant, senior student, expressed his gratitude to the school and family for the support given during the process of certification.
Finally, the ceremony came to its end with our dean’s words, Mr. Claudio Castillo Faúndez, who also gave an address in English to the certificated students.
The FLYERS students were supported by Miss Leslie Donoso and the KET, PET and FCE students were prepared by Mr. César González.
